Nice One Channel 4

For anyone not watching Channel 4's Falklands' Most Daring Raid last night I can highly recommend viewing it on their on demand facility. To see all of those beautiful Victors lined up on Ascension Island really was captivating. The complexity of the 11 tanker refuelling operation for the lone Vulcan on the bombing run into Port Stanley was truly awe-inspiring.

Mrs Thatcher had many faults, but she certainly was a strong and determined woman. Not on her watch was she going to let Britain suffer the humiliation of Argentina snatching our islands and subjugating our people. Unfortunately, I have my doubts that those currently in charge have what it takes, let us hope that my suspicions aren't put to the test.

As for the programme itself, it shed new light on some of the technicalities of the Vulcan Black Buck raids; bombing altitude, ordnance and refuelling logistics. Thankfully C4 refrained from politicising the broadcast and told it how it was for what it was - a personal message to Buenos Aires, we mean business and you are not off the menu.
