Foreign Aid, Fairtrade & Operation Blind Eye

I'm glad everyone seems to like the videos I uploaded yesterday, our chaps really are doing splendid work over there. Probably like the rest of you, it gives me tremendous pride to see Andrew and Nick deliver the payload and doing exactly what it says on the tin.

There's been lots of talk concerning Britain's disgusting foreign aid bill. On Friday the BBC actually mentioned the fact that India receives hundreds of millions in British handouts whilst still have the luxury of engaging in its own space programme. Some of you may know this because you will have heard me say it years ago, but I was the first person to use this analogy.

Not that I am boasting, it gives me littler pleasure in seeing the BBC belatedly start to inform the public of this scandal. Since I first mentioned this, over the years the Indians are probably £billions better off and thousands of our pensioners will have frozen to death because they can't afford to keep warm in winter. I kid you not, there will be those in government and at the BBC who will be very happy with this result.

You may have gathered, I don't think much of the concept of foreign aid. In fact I'd rather a portion of the current £8 billion a year goes to save Portsmouth FC from liquidation rather than be used facilitating third world dictatorships and helping people who despise us. At least thousands of our own people in Hampshire would benefit.

It's the same with this "Fairtrade" racket. I don't see anyone else in the world paying over the odds to keep British workers in jobs and their families out of poverty. However, you cannot help escape the promotion of all kinds of imports proudly boasting that we are in effect being fleeced. Not only that, this "guilt" tax is actually being used to build up the infrastructure of other countries so that our own industries can be undermined even more.

Don't know whether you have noticed but the media have developed a covert habit of describing the victims of gun crime in racial terms. "Operation Trident" are the two words which tell us all in code that the victim is black. One wonders if the police will be launching an operation to deal with the sickening epidemic of the grooming and rape of young white girls by Muslim men occurring right across our country. What imaginative title would they come up with, "Operation Nonce" perhaps, how about "Operation Cultural Misunderstanding", or more likely, "Operation Blind Eye". Any other suggestions (legal ones please)?

Some of you may like to know that having selected a square in the north of Scotland on Wednesday, Walkers Crisps will be sending me a £10 cheque courtesy of their "rainy days" promotion. Always liked Gary Linekar, especially after he held his nerve and slotted away two penalties in the 1990 World Cup quarter finals against a talented Cameroon side.

Back with some nature notes tomorrow, before I start breaching the Trades Descriptions Act! I have also got one of Andrew's speeches that he wasn't called to give in Strasbourg last week sitting on my mobile phone's SD micro card.
